Senior Waterproofing / Glass and Glazing Consultant
We are currently looking for a Senior Waterproofing / Glass and Glazing Consultant. This is a permanent position with an engineering consulting firm. This is a senior level position. This is a full-time permanent position with a standard benefits package.
A Consultant at IBA Consultants is an experienced leader with in-depth knowledge of building envelope design, engineering, fabrication, installation, inspection, and testing processes and protocols. The Consultant understands and furthers all of IBA’s services and business goals, and has to be able to communicate these goals effectively with a wide range of people. He/she deals directly with IBA’s clients, manufacturers, architects, general contractors, and subcontractors. This high visibility position requires a professional attitude, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Job Requirements:

BS/MS in Engineering, Architecture or related field.

Licensing preferred (RRC/RRO).

LEED Certification preferred.
-
10+ years of technical experience handling problems in glass and glazing and waterproofing.

Knowledge of glass and glazing systems, standards and building codes.
-
Knowledge of different cladding systems, such as brick, stucco, and metal panels.
-
Experience with failure analysis and diagnosing issues.
-
Ability to work in the field and make onsite decisions.
-
Background in client interaction.

Business development and bringing in revenue is a plus.

Active in professional organizations.

Ability to operate a computer and MS Office Software
-
Travel.

Inspector
The Inspector position for IBA requires persons with a knowledge base of building envelopes, observation and report writing skills, dependability and integrity. The position requires interpersonal skills as the inspector will deal directly, and must maintain relations, with the client, manufacturers, designers, general contractors and subcontractors.
Knowledge of overall construction processes is required: shop drawings and submittals, materials and manufacturing, delivery and installation, et cetera.
The Inspector will be required to multitask: complete inspections, reports, and completion list in a timely manner and for multiple projects. This high visibility position requires a professional attitude and offers a good foundation for advancement within IBA.
Engineering/Architectural/Science degree(s), Building Inspector License, or General Contractor’s License preferred. The following qualifications are necessary:
Job Requirements:

Perform building envelope inspections for compliance with approved project documents.

Generate ‘draft’ field inspection reports for all inspections performed.

Generate formal field inspection reports for all inspections performed.

Generate Completion Status Reports and update Summary Reports for projects.

Enter weekly timesheets of work performed.

Ensure project documents are properly filed, work with Consultants and PM’s to monitor correspondence accuracy.

Monitor all documents in and out along with Consultants and PM’s.

Use proper safety equipment and practice at all times.

Ability to operate a computer and MS Office software.

Ability to handle multiple projects from the programming phase to end-of-service life.

Senior Waterproofing/Roofing Consultant
Responsibilities of the Senior Waterproofing and Roofing Consultant include consulting for new and existing construction requirements for roofing and waterproofing systems on commercial buildings.
Engineering/Architectural/Science degree(s) preferred but not mandatory. RRO/RRC and LEED certifications are beneficial but not required. The following qualifications are necessary:

Minimum of fifteen years in the roofing and waterproofing industry.

Knowledge of different roofing systems, building codes, FM Global and UL requirements.

Knowledge of different waterproofing systems, such as below-grade and plaza decks.

Ability to operate a computer and MS Office software.

Ability to handle multiple projects from the programming phase to end-of-service life.
